Tyler hails from the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. Raised at a sleep-away summer camp outside of Brevard, he cultivated numerous talents during his formative years. A dedicated team player and a natural leader on the water, Tyler finds immense joy in the boating community and the diverse experiences it offers, whether it involves dock life, cruising, chartering, maintenance, or navigating through storms. He enjoys sharing this vibrant lifestyle with people and his clients.
Having honed his skills in catering to people’s needs during his time at the summer camp, Tyler has seamlessly transitioned his talent, mentality, and mindset toward the ocean and yachting.
His affinity for the water blossomed at the age of 10 when he became Scuba certified. With a background rooted in the outdoors and a profound sense of wonder for the unknown, Tyler transformed his curiosity into a genuine passion for the water.
After receiving his degrees from Appalachian State University in Outdoor Experiential Education and Business, he made his way to the Keys off of FL. He pursued his scuba instructor certification and has trained over 200 students underwater. While pursuing this passion, it led him to the Virgin Islands, where he began his yachting career with Charter Caribe, a yacht management fleet closely associated with Caribe Yacht Group.
Since 2014, Tyler has been an integral part of the term charter industry, serving as a captain, scuba instructor, chef, mechanic, and overall island guide for Charter Caribe. Over the span of ten years, he has completed over 180 trips, enabling him to achieve two significant goals:
Firstly, he has consistently delivered extraordinary experiences for his guests aboard these luxurious yachts, nestled amidst some of the most breathtaking cruising grounds in the world.
Secondly, through providing exceptional, once-in-a-lifetime experiences for people, he has gained invaluable insights into the world of sales and asset management.
Tyler’s extensive experience includes living on and captaining nearly the entire Lagoon catalog. He humorously remarks, “I’m on the hunt for that power 67 and the 77 job someday, but until my kids are old enough to lend a hand on deck, I’ll stick to the sales role.” Following the birth of his son (with another on the way), he transitioned to a more land-based role, supporting the company from shore.
Since joining Caribe Yacht Group as a broker, Tyler has excelled in assisting his clients in realizing their yachting dreams, from the initial concept stage to confidently executing their sail plan. Whether you’re interested in setting up a commercial operation or embarking on the cruising life you’ve always envisioned, Tyler is your go-to person. By following his lead, he will empower you to unlock your full potential on the water.
